Privacy policy

This policy explains what Aussie TV (aussietv.app) collects and why. Short version: by default your choices stay on your own device.

On your device (no account needed)

• Your interests (categories, countries, languages), your Watch later list, family-mode and data-saver settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us unless you create an account.
• Clear them any time from your browser settings, or with Reset in the interests picker.

If you create a free account

• We store a username, a password (hashed by WordPress) and, if you give one, an email address, plus your interests and Watch later list so they sync across devices.
• We do not send sign-up emails. You can ask us to delete your account through the contact page.

Alerts (opt-in only)

• Push notifications: if you turn them on, your browser gives us a push address (an anonymous URL from your browser vendor such as Google, Apple or Mozilla) which we store with your interests. Alerts carry no personal content; at most one a day, only when something matching your interests is added. Turn them off in Alerts or in your browser.
• Weekly email digest: double opt-in. We store your email and interests; nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe that deletes your address.

Contact form

Messages you send (name, email, message) are stored on our server so we can reply, and deleted when no longer needed.

Server logs and cookies

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, kept for a limited time. Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes requests to protect and speed up the site. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies today. Logged-in users get the standard WordPress login cookie.

Advertising

We may show ads in future to cover running costs. If we do, ads may be served by Google, which uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. We will update this policy and ask for consent where required before any ads go live.

Links to other sites

Every listing opens another organisation's site or app, which has its own privacy policy and terms. Some require sign-in or are limited to certain countries.

Children

Aussie TV is a general-audience directory. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
